Leedy Family Reunion

Clipping from the D.W. Garber scrapbook

On Wednesday the Leedy family held their 30th. annual reunion at the Leedy Park.  A business session was held in the morning and then followed a real reunion until about 2:00 when the President Mr. Ary Leedy of near Mt. Gilead (OH) called the assembly to order for the informal program.

Miss Ruth Porter very ably rendered a vocal solo and played her own accompaniment on the piano.  Miss Ruth is about twelve years old and shows prospect of being an accomplished musician.  Another special number was by Master Harold Robinson who sang the solo part of School Days while the Leedy Quartette joined with him on the chorus.  The Leedy Quartette were required to sing four more numbers instead of two.

A talk by Mr. Harvey Leedy of Michigan but a former resident of this community with an address by Mr. Garber a lawyer of St. Louis constituted the interesting program.  Mr. Roy Leedy started a discussion on the announcement of Cousin Aaron Garber that he would no longer Superintended the publishing of the Leedy Chronicle.  The announcement had brought consternation among the cousins and tentative plans were started toward the continuation of the family paper and it is hoped these plans will be completed before the reunion next year.  A large number expressed their regret that they had neglected to help more with the publishing of the paper.
